Two faces, one true edge

Flatten the day-job face first

Outside-work clauses and a protected hour limit keep the main job from cupping when extra work arrives.

If the day-job face is still cupped — unclear rules, no hour limit — the joint with side work will show a gap.

Two checks

  1. Read your contract for outside work, competition and confidentiality. Ask HR if anything is unclear.
  2. Set a weekly maximum for side work that you can keep when the day job is heavy.

Only then look for extra work. A true first face makes the second easier to flatten.
